Tastings of Tokaj wines

The Tokaj vineyard and wine region is one of the five regions in the world where grapes can be grown for the production of naturally sweet wines. It is the smallest wine-growing area in Slovakia, but at the same time one of the most important. It is a historical and territorial part of the large Tokaj region, the greater part of which extends over the territory of Hungary.

The world-famous Tokaj wines can be produced exclusively from grapes of the Fumint, Lipovina, Yellow Muscat and, in some cases, Zeta grapes.

You can taste Tokaj wines from local winemakers during Open Cellars Day, which takes place on the last weekend of September. The pubs are open to anyone who buys a ticket.
